AB InBev is currently trying to finance $122 B to buy SABMiller, who is currently trying to buy Heineken NV. Lots of possible consolidation here... !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

As long as they stay the hell out of Shiner, Texas, I'm good.

I feel like that gets them dangerously close to violating anti-trust. Doesn't AB InBev already own most of the beverage world followed by Miller then Heineken? Or does this not apply because they are global companies?

If, and thats a big if, all three were to merge the resulting company would have about 40% of the world beer market. So yeah, its unlikely that all three would happen. But one of them wouldnt be a huge surprise to me.

I think InBev will get into trouble with the European Union if they try to buy SAB.

Anti-trust is set up by each nation (if at all). It would be difficult to stop it, depending on where the HQ's are located before and after the move. Hopefully them damn dutch have their clogs on the right feet and their tulips in a row.
And something about windmills.

Well Fuck.
I avoid anything InBev because they suck. I have been getting Heineken exclusively because they aren't one of the bigger corporate brewers.
Guess I'll just have to stop drinking then.

Surprisingly SABMiller and Heineken have almost identical world sales percentages.

Except that nearly everything anyone makes is a damn IPA and I DO NOT like hops. I get it, hops add variety and flavor. Okay, that's fine. But, why does that mean the beer has to be so bitter it tastes like it's skunked already?

...Wow, such hostility?
Hops are hard to get around at first, when I started drinking beer I could barely handle some Pale Ales that were only 60 IBUs, hops are definitely an acquired taste, I understand what you're saying.
To say only IPAs are made is a very, very gross overstatement. There are many great brews of Porters, Stouts, Lambics, Lagers, Wheat Ales, and many more styles that are delicious. Post up what region you're in and what styles you like and I'll see what I know/can recommend.
Cheers.

SW Ohio.
Haven't found anything I like so far. I honestly do not drink all that much, so stopping because I don't like anything and won't support some huge evil corporation is easy enough.
I actually like Heineken Light, which is my usual go-to. Though Newcastle on tap is like candy; I just don't get it often because it's so dark and heavy and I'm trying to lose a few pounds. Not drinking/only light beers makes that easier.

Fair enough, though Great Lakes Brewing Co has good stuff and are based in Cleveland.
I'm limiting my beer intake to help lose a few pounds, best wishes in your similar endeavor.

Tried their brews before, too dark, too bitter.
Thanks. Staying active enough is the hardest part. Not drinking is easy since I have more money that way.
